Mail Bag - 2

Judging from my recent mails, it would seem that there are more groups lobbying for the rejection of the report of the Taskforce on Peace, Unity, and Purity of the Church -- or at least rejecting Recommendation 5. Has the Presbyterian majority chosen to remain silent? I hope not.

Among my recent mail is an April 26 missive from the session of the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, GA. To their credit, they made a reasoned case as to why the recommendation conflicts with the Book of Order. Obviously, I need more time and more balanced information to discern the guidance of the Lord on this matter. Let me add, however, that I love the First Presbyterian Church's slogan: "Where God's House Feels Like Home." And like any home, we do bicker and disagree.
